Remember the old days when you dated, got engaged, and then picked a date for wedding. The wedding was a big party with friends and family members and then you took off on a honeymoon to a tropical paradise. You waited a few years of wedded bliss and then you would start a family.Things are different now. Indeed, you start off by dating but after that nothing is standard. You could have a family, live together before marriage, and then have a wedding. Or have a family and never get married as Brangelina have done. Looks as if Nicole Richie and Joel Madden are going to do the same.
"We don't have any plans for that right now," Madden told People magazine. "We're just happy, and we're being a family, and that's where we're at right now. But marriage means something different to everyone."
I think marriage is basically becoming an outdated concept with all the complications related to a 50% probability of divorce, child support issues, and ugly custody battles.
